A transformer failure at 7 AM on August 15 — Independence Day — left 240 households in Ganapathy, Coimbatore without power just as families were preparing for the day's celebrations. Residents expected to wait the whole day. Instead, a TANGEDCO crew of four engineers arrived within 45 minutes and restored power by 10 AM — just in time for the flag hoisting at the local school. The crew worked through the morning heat without a break. No fanfare. New TNSTC Bus Route 51C Now Connects Tambaram to Chromepet Direct — No More Auto for the Last Mile

TNSTC quietly launched a new bus route 51C connecting Tambaram Bus Stand directly to Chromepet Railway Station via Selaiyur and Kovilambakkam from August 11, 2026. This fills a long-standing gap — thousands of residents in Selaiyur and Kovilambakkam were forced to take autos or share vans to connect to both Tambaram and Chromepet. Great news for Velachery residents — the lake walkway that was torn up for drainage repair work in 2023 has finally been fully restored. New interlocking tiles, benches, LED pathway lights, and native tree saplings now line the 1.2-km stretch around the eastern bank. The Greater Chennai Corporation completed the work on August 13 — just in time for the Independence Day weekend. Salute to This Trichy Corporation Officer Who Fixed Our Street Drain in 48 Hours — Not 48 Weeks

We've all complained about slow government response. So when it happens right, it deserves to be said loudly. A blocked street drain near KK Nagar 7th Cross, Trichy had been causing waterlogging every monsoon for the past 4 years. A report was filed on VizhiTN on August 12. By August 14 — just 48 hours later — a Trichy Corporation team had cleared the blockage, relaid the drain cover, and even repaired the broken kerbstone alongside it.
