TVK Government Unveils State-Wide MSME Credit Guarantee Fund

In a major push toward economic revitalization, the TVK administration led by Chief Minister Vijay has rolled out a comprehensive State-Wide MSME Credit Guarantee Fund at Fort St. George today. Designed to ease collateral constraints for first-generation entrepreneurs and manufacturing units across industrial clusters in Coimbatore, Chennai, and Tiruppur, the scheme aims to disburse targeted financial lifelines within 30 days of application. The cabinet noted that this initiative bridges a critical credit gap, fulfilling key electoral promises made during the recent assembly campaign.

Opposition parties, however, have adopted a cautious stance regarding the implementation timeline and fund allocation metrics. DMK President MK Stalin questioned the capital backing of the corpus, demanding a transparent white paper to ensure micro-enterprises receive priority over large corporate entities. Meanwhile, industry bodies have welcomed the framework, urging the Secretariat to streamline bureaucratic clearance processes at district industry centers to maximize grassroots adoption.
