G.O. Ms. No. 72: Expansion of Cyber Crime Rapid Response Units Across All 38 Districts

Home (Police) Department order deploying dedicated technical investigators, forensic toolkits, and direct integration with 1930 National Cyber Crime Portal at all 38 District Police Offices.

In response to surging digital financial scams and APK fake utility message frauds, the Home Department notified G.O. Ms. No. 72 upgrading Cyber Crime Police Stations in all 38 revenue districts of Tamil Nadu.

Critical Capabilities Deployed:

    Golden Hour Fund Freezing: Direct liaison desk between District Cyber Units and Reserve Bank of India / major scheduled banks to freeze defrauded amounts if reported via 1930 within 2 hours.

    Forensic Mobile Extraction: Dedicated digital forensic units at every District Police Office (DPO) to analyze malware-infected APK links and fraudulent SMS gateways.

    Public Awareness Desks: Weekly cyber hygiene clinics conducted at Taluk police stations for senior citizens and college students.
