Velachery Lake Walkway Restored After 3 Years — Residents Finally Have Their Evening Spot Back
Great news for Velachery residents — the lake walkway that was torn up for drainage repair work in 2023 has finally been fully restored. New interlocking tiles, benches, LED pathway lights, and native tree saplings now line the 1.2-km stretch around the eastern bank. The Greater Chennai Corporation completed the work on August 13 — just in time for the Independence Day weekend. Residents who had been walking on muddy, broken paths for over 1,000 days are thrilled. 📍 Location: Velachery Lake, Eastern Bank Walkway — near Taramani Link Road. 🌳 The new green corridor also has fitness equipment stations at three points. Have you visited yet? Drop your photos in the comments. This one's worth celebrating. 👏
