New TNSTC Bus Route 51C Now Connects Tambaram to Chromepet Direct — No More Auto for the Last Mile
TNSTC quietly launched a new bus route 51C connecting Tambaram Bus Stand directly to Chromepet Railway Station via Selaiyur and Kovilambakkam from August 11, 2026. This fills a long-standing gap — thousands of residents in Selaiyur and Kovilambakkam were forced to take autos or share vans to connect to both Tambaram and Chromepet. Now one bus does it all. 📍 Route: Tambaram Bus Stand → Selaiyur → Kovilambakkam → Chromepet Railway Station ⏰ Frequency: Every 20 minutes, 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM 🎟️ Fare: ₹12 to ₹18 depending on stop This is what good public transport looks like. Share this with anyone in the area — they might not know yet! 🚌
