AIADMK Leader EPS Condemns Escalating Public Transport Fares

AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) launched a scathing attack on the ruling TVK administration today, condemning unannounced adjustments and operational inefficiencies affecting state transport corporations. Speaking to party cadres in Salem district, EPS alleged that ordinary commuters and daily wage earners are bearing the brunt of poor administrative oversight, pointing to irregular bus frequencies across rural and suburban routes. The principal opposition leader demanded an immediate review of transit subsidies and urged the government to roll back any backdoor tariff hikes. Political analysts note that transport sector management has emerged as a primary flashpoint between the opposition and the newly formed cabinet, with both AIADMK and DMK intensifying pressure on the administration to safeguard subsidized commuter schemes.
