What happened: - Lightning strike at 11 PM on September 13 damaged the main 33 KV transformer serving Maraimalai Nagar - Over 4,000 households lost power including several apartment complexes - TANGEDCO emergency team mobilised by midnight - Temporary bypass arrangement made by 6 AM — partial restoration - Permanent transformer replacement completed by 5 PM September 14 Officer in charge: Junior Engineer Mr. Prakash, TANGEDCO Maraimalai Nagar Section Lineman team: 8-member crew worked through the night without break Residents of Maraimalai Nagar Phase 2 and Phase 3 have submitted a appreciation letter to TANGEDCO Chengalpattu Division acknowledging the exceptional night-duty response.
