Urgent Cyber Security Alert: Fake TANGEDCO Power Bill & WhatsApp Job Scams across Tamil Nadu

The Cyber Crime Wing has issued an urgent public advisory across districts including Krishnagiri, Salem, and Villupuram regarding a surge in fraudulent SMS messages claiming 'Your electricity power will be disconnected tonight as the previous month's bill was not updated. Call this mobile number immediately.' Cyber criminals are also luring citizens with fake WhatsApp task-based part-time job scams. Citizens are strictly warned not to click unknown links or share OTPs. Report any cyber fraud immediately to the National Cyber Helpline 1930 or via cybercrime.gov.in.
