An uncovered manhole on Rockfort Road near the Teppakulam junction, Tiruchirappalli has been left open for over two weeks, posing serious risk of injury or death to pedestrians and two-wheeler riders. Hazard details: - Location: Rockfort Road, 100 metres before Teppakulam Tank junction, left side - The iron manhole cover has been stolen — a common problem in the area - The open hole is approximately 4 feet deep and 2.5 feet wide - No warning tape, barricade, or marker has been placed around it - Night-time visibility is extremely poor — no streetlight directly at this spot - A child reportedly fell into the hole last week but was rescued without serious injury This is a public safety emergency. Tiruchirappalli Corporation must replace the manhole cover and install barricades immediately.
