Ranipet Industrial Area Road Condition Critical: Heavy Vehicles Causing Rapid Deterioration

The road network inside Ranipet Industrial Estate, particularly the stretch from SIPCOT main gate to the leather tannery cluster, has reached a critical state of deterioration due to unregulated heavy vehicle movement. Current road condition: - SIPCOT Internal Road 3 and Road 7: Completely broken with 30+ potholes in 500 metres - Chrome tannery bypass road: Surface has crumbled, loose gravel creates skid risk - Overloaded leather export trucks using roads beyond their load capacity - No road maintenance in SIPCOT Ranipet since 2024 - Workers cycling or on two-wheelers face daily injury risk Environmental concern: Broken roads causing tannery effluent to flow onto road surface during operations, creating additional health hazard. SIPCOT Ranipet is home to over 200 industrial units employing approximately 15,000 workers daily. Road condition is affecting worker safety and logistics costs. SIPCOT Ranipet Estate Officer: 04172-255234 Ranipet District Collector office: 04172-220100
