Hazard details: - Stretch: Erumapalayam to Kabilarmalai on NH 544, approximately 3 km - All 24 sodium vapour streetlights in this stretch have been non-functional since July 2026 - TANGEDCO power supply to streetlight feeder intact — fault is in the light fixtures themselves - Road has two blind curves within this stretch — dangerous even in daylight - Night truck and bus traffic is heavy on this NH 544 corridor Accident record (past 3 weeks): - September 1: Two-wheeler vs tempo collision — 2 injured - September 5: Car lost control on blind curve — 1 hospitalised - September 9: Lorry hit parked two-wheeler — driver escaped - September 14: Auto vs two-wheeler — 3 injured - September 17: Two bikes collided on the curve — 2 hospitalised Complaints filed: - NHAI Namakkal: August 20, 2026 — no action - Namakkal SP office: September 10 — police stationed 2 days, then withdrawn NHAI Namakkal: 04286-225678 Namakkal Superintendent of Police: 04286-220100 Highway patrol: 044-28524000
