TN Circular Economy Policy 2026 Targets Waste-to-Wealth Industries
Tamil Nadu's new circular economy policy prioritises recycling, industrial reuse, and clean tech to align growth with climate commitments.
Why this matters to Tamil Nadu
For Tamil Nadu residents, this policy creates cleaner industrial zones by mandating material reuse and waste reduction at factories — directly reducing pollution in communities near SIPCOT and other industrial estates. It also opens new formal economy job opportunities in waste recycling and clean manufacturing sectors, particularly for workers in cities like Coimbatore, Salem, and Thoothukudi where industrial activity is dense.
