Second Purattaasi Sani September 26: All You Need to Know This Week
The second Purattaasi Saturday falls this Friday evening into Saturday — Perumal temples prepare for their second massive crowd of the month as devotees observe the weekly fast for Lord Vishnu.
Why this matters to Tamil Nadu
September 26 is the second of only four Purattaasi Saturdays in 2026 — and this one falls just 6 days before Navarathri begins on October 2. For millions of Tamil families, this weekend is the natural combining point for temple visits on Saturday and Golu preparation shopping over the weekend. Searches for Purattaasi Sani dates, fasting rules, and Navarathri Golu shopping guides spike simultaneously this week — making this article a natural traffic anchor for both festivals.
